The Second Medical Service Project of Rotary Year 2026–27
“Twenty minutes of your life and just 250 cc of your blood can become the defining line between life and death for someone. The power to give another person the gift of life flows through your veins.”
As Rotarians, we live by the principle of “Service Above Self.” Throughout our journey, we are presented with countless opportunities to serve humanity—and turning those opportunities into meaningful action is one of our greatest responsibilities.
As part of Rotary Year 2026–27, Rotary Club of Panvel Central successfully conducted its second Medical Service Project, a large-scale Blood Donation Camp, on Sunday, 12 July 2026.
A Collaborative Effort for a Noble Cause
The blood donation camp was jointly organized by Rotary Club of Panvel Central, Bharat Vikas Parishad – Panvel, Hindu Sammelan Samiti – New Panvel, and Andhra Kala Samiti, with the valuable support of Tata Memorial Cancer Centre.
The camp was held at Andhra Kala Samiti, Sector 2, New Panvel, and received an overwhelming response from the community.
The initiative turned out to be far more successful than expected, reflecting the generosity and strong sense of social responsibility among the people of Panvel.
124 Blood Donors Step Forward
A total of 124 donors came forward and donated blood, demonstrating that a small act of kindness can make a tremendous difference in someone’s life.
The project was conceptualized and executed successfully through the dedicated efforts of Rotarian Dr. Prasanna Chandratre, Director – Medical Services, Rotary Club of Panvel Central. His initiative to bring together multiple social organizations for a common humanitarian cause resulted in a highly impactful medical service project.
The collaboration demonstrated the true strength of partnership—when organizations come together with a shared purpose, their collective efforts can create a much greater impact.
Every Drop Counts
Blood donation is more than a medical procedure; it is an act of humanity. Every unit donated has the potential to support a patient in need and offer hope to families going through some of the most difficult moments of their lives.
The success of this blood donation camp is a proud achievement for Rotary Club of Panvel Central and all its partner organizations. More importantly, it stands as a reminder that service begins with a simple willingness to give.
With 124 generous donors leading the way, Rotary Club of Panvel Central continues its journey of Service Above Self, creating meaningful change through compassion, collaboration, and community service.
One donation. One act of kindness. One chance to save a life.
